Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr


An American pastor, activist, humanitarian, and leaver in the Civil Rights Movement. Born Michael King Jr. in 1929, his father changed his name in honor of the German reformer Martin Luther. Dr. King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965. The Presidential Medal of Freedom and Congressional Gold Medal were awarded posthumously. A memorial statue was added to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. in 2011. (Wikipedia, 2014)
